Two new Azimut models are set to be cruising Kiwi waters with the New Zealand distributor for Azimut Yachts, Pinnacle Marine European Ltd, confirming the sale of a 66 Flybridge and a Magellano 53 for two local buyers.
Adding to the experience of purchasing a new Azimut, the owners of the Magellano 53 will take delivery in Europe with a handover in Italy, enjoying the waters of the Mediterranean over the Northern Hemisphere Summer before having the yacht shipped back to New Zealand in time for the warmer Kiwi months.
“These first time buyers viewed the 53 Magellano with us at the Cannes Yachting Festival in September 2018 and have since fallen in love with the style / concept and configuration of the Magellano,” says Grant Saunders, Dealer Principal of Pinnacle Marine.
“We will hand the yacht over to them in Italy in May where they plan to enjoy some of the European summer on-board the yacht in the Mediterranean before shipping it to its new home in New Zealand. We have arranged an experienced local captain and put together a cruising itinerary for them ensuring they have maximum enjoyment from the experience.”
Expected to be delivered in April, the 66 Flybridge model will feature the new 'Riviera' interior, which comprises of brushed desert oak, pearl tai and gloss mahogany textures. This particular yacht is the first 66 in the world to receive this stunning new interior decor option and will be homed in the Westhaven Marina.
The 66 Flybridge has a four plus one crew cabin configuration along with five heads. Power comes from twin Caterpillar C18 1150hp engines with a cruise 28 knots and top speed of 32 knots.
Saunders says that the 2018 Cannes Yachting Festival saw a record number of Kiwi buyers attend the show – Europe’s largest.
“We are currently experiencing significant interest in the Azimut brand from local buyers. We had ten buyers meet us at Cannes to view the range last September and we’re now seeing that filter through with the confirmation of yacht orders.
“Attending the show presents many advantages to potential buyers, not only being able to view the entire range in one location but the ability to take advantage of show specials.”
The Cannes Yachting Festival is on again this coming September (10-15) and will also see Azimut celebrate its 50th year, with the release of up to five new models.
